Elijah at 15 months and 2nd trimester :)

So I've been waiting to post until we officially announced that we are pregnant!!! :) We decided we wanted to start trying not long after Elijah turned one. It took us 3 months to get pregnant with him, so I figured it would be about the same with this one. Well the first month we decided to try, we got pregnant lol. We were both a little shocked. We decided since the holidays were coming up, that is when we would tell our families. We were with Josh's family for Thanksgiving so we told all of them then. They were all really excited! We were going to wait til Christmas to tell my family, but I couldn't wait to tell my parents, so we framed the first ultrasound and wrapped it up and gave it to em right after Thanksgiving. We re-wrapped the frame and gave it to my mom again at Christmas to tell the rest of the family. It took em a minute to figure out that it was a new baby and not Elijah's ultrasound, but when they did they were all excited for us. I'm 13 weeks today and can't believe how fast it is going! It has already been two months since we found out and it's a little less than two months when we find out what we're having. I'm due July 4th and I've been trying to find a way to go as natural as possible with labor, but with my clotting condition the only option they're giving me now is to be induced at 39 weeks. I'd really like to avoid Pictocin, so I'm praying I go into labor on my own before 39 weeks. Pretty much either way, this is going to be a June baby and I know June will be here before we know it! I'm so excited to do this crazy adventure all over again :)

This is our lil ones first picture at 7 weeks 5 days :)

My lil man is now 15 months old! He is walking/running everywhere and is into EVERYTHING. He hardly ever sits still. My mom calls him a mountain climber. He loves to climb whatever he sees. He's still not talking much, but the Dr said he's doing fine. I think I'm just getting ready for him to start talking :). He does say Mama all day long, which I don't mind. He understands a lot! I love it. He knows, "Let's take a nap," "Let's take a bath," "Want some milk?" "Are you hungry?" Just about everything that he needs to understand lol. I can't believe how big he is getting! He got soo much for Christmas! This child should never be bored with all the toys he got. My parents definitely spoiled him lol. My living room is now a complete mess with the abundance of toys everywhere. I can only imagine how next year is going to be with two babies! This all goes by too fast and I'm just trying to soak in every minute.

My lil man is 10 months old!

So I haven't posted in a couple months, so this will probably be long :). Elijah has been changing so much and so fast! He is pulling up on everything and cruising with the furniture, so I don't think it will be too much longer til he starts walking. Last week he started saying, "Mama," and "Baba." He usually only says Mama when he's crying, which is cute, and Baba when he's hungry. Today while I was at the doctor, he started saying Dada, which I think is partly because he hasn't Josh in about a week and he misses him. He has decided that he doesn't like baby food anymore and only wants table food. Luckily, he hasn't found anything that he doesn't like lol. He finally will start drinking from a sippy cup. He does best with the straw kind. I think he is soo cute drinking from it. He has started dancing whenever he hears music. He is just starting to get so much personality. I can't believe that in only two months we will have his first birthday party! He is getting so big and I just wish it would slow down!

I went to the hematologist today to get more information about my Protein S Deficiency. They did some tests to see if I have anymore clotting issues. The doctor said that as long as I only have Protein S and my old clots are completely gone, then it is perfectly fine if I get pregnant again :D. I go next week to check out the old clots, and hopefully they'll call me this week with my lab results. I'm just praying that we continue to hear good news!

Elijah at 8 months

So today I have the day off from work so I thought I'd update things on here. Elijah now has 5 teeth, and 3 of which are coming in right now. He looks so cute with teeth now. At first, I thought he looked funny because I wasn't used to there being teeth in there ;). Elijah turned 8 months old on Sunday and still cannot believe how fast time goes by! In only 4 months, Eli will have his 1st birthday! Today he pulled himself up on my leg and then let go to try to stand!! It was soo exciting!! I love seeing everything new that he does. He's crawling pretty fast, he can now go from crawling to sitting, and he can escape his bumbo. He also constantly tries to roll over when I'm changing his diaper or getting him dressed. He is becoming more and more of a hand full, but I wouldn't ask for anything else. I love watching him grow and experience new things. On Thursday we are going to Charleston! It will be our first vacation with Elijah. We're going to take him to the beach, and I really can't wait to see how he reacts to everything. After Charelston, we are going to start saving up for baby #2 :). We figured with me working now, we should have enough saved up to start trying again in about 4-5 months! I cannot wait to have another one and for Elijah to have a lil bro/sis. Well that is pretty much all the updates we have for now :)

Elijah's 6 month check up

Today Elijah had his 6 month check up. He's a little late getting to it, he'll be 7 months old on Friday. He was 18 lbs 3 oz and 28 1/4 in long. The doctor said he is looking great! He said I need to start giving him table food so he can practice with new textures and practice feeding himself. I'm excited to start trying all that with him, but a little sad that he's growing up. He has started crawling over the past week. Well the way he does it, the doctor calls is creeping lol, but needless to say, he is getting into EVERYTHING! I had to get his playpen back from my parents so he wouldn't get into anything if I couldn't watch him. He has also started to sit by himself. It amazes me how fast he is growing!
So I started working part time at the daycare up the road from our house. Josh wasn't too thrilled about me working, but I mainly wanted to so I could have some extra spending money for Elijah :). Eli goes with me and he seems to do really well. He has a little friend there, Ben. I think it's good for him to have a little social interaction besides Mommy all the time lol. I usually watch the after-schoolers and they don't need much, so it's pretty much 4 hours of sitting outside talking to the other girl I work with lol.
Well just wanted to give a little update on Eli and our lives :)

Elijah at 6 months

Well my lil man just turned 6 months old about a week ago. Where has the time gone?!? It seems like he's changing every day. He is now starting to try to crawl. He gets on all fours and rocks back and forth, but instead of moving his arms and legs, he just throws himself forward :) He is soo cute to watch doing that. He is starting to talk more. He'll randomly throw a "Ma" or "Da" in his little babbling, so I've been so hopeful to hear "Mama". I can't believe he's only 6 months away from his 1st birthday! I just want to freeze him and keep him little forever.
So I believe Josh and I have decided to start trying for baby number two around March or April of next year. It took us 3 months to get pregnant with Elijah and Josh wants a March/April baby so that would be about the right timing. I want another one soo bad, but it makes me nervous to think about having a toddler and a newborn! I know God won't give me anything I can't handle so I just keep telling myself that lol.
Well that's pretty much all the updates we have for now, so til next time...

About us and our life so far

Hello to all! Well a little about us. My husband, Josh, and I have been married for 2 1/2 years. We met our senior year of high school. We dated for seven months and got married in November 2008. Josh left for Marine Corps bootcamp in January 2009. He got back home September 2009. We found out we were expecting our first baby January 2010. We could have been happier. When I was 14 weeks pregnant, we found out we were having a little boy. Our beautiful boy was born on September 15, 2010. When he was two months old, I went into the hospital for severe blood clots. I was in the hospital for ten days. In September 2008, I found out that I have Protein S Deficiency, which makes me more likely to get blood clots. While I was pregnant I had to take blood thinners to make sure I didn't get any clots. Well turns out that didn't really do the trick. It has been four months since I got out of the hospital and everything is going great! Elijah is absolutely wonderful. He's trying to crawl, he loves baby food (which I make for him each week), and he is always such a sweet, happy baby. With my condition, he may be our one and only. Right now we are in the process of getting information on whether or not I can have more children. We are really hopeful and praying hard! That is just a little peak into our lives :).
